Notes on nominations:

Each participant may nominate up to 6 fandoms with 1-10 relationships in each.


Fandoms:

Any fandom is eligible if it has already been released, or will have been released by the time signups open on Friday 11 September.

If the fandom has a canonical tag on AO3, please use it. (e.g. use "DC Extended Universe", not "DCEU".)

If your fandom does not have a canonical tag on AO3, that's fine - you can still nominate it.

See below for notes on franchises.

Do not nominate 'All Media Types' or '& Related Fandoms' fandoms!

Please be as specific as possible to avoid confusion.

This means nominating specific versions, e.g. 'Les Misérables - Victor Hugo' not 'Les Misérables - All Media Types'.

If your fandom's most fitting tag is an 'All Media Types' or '& Related Fandoms' fandom, please comment here to discuss.

Exceptions: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types' and 'Assassin's Creed - All Media Types'. Please use the All Media Types tag in these cases.

Relationship Tags:

Relationships can be romantic/sexual (/ between character names) or gen/platonic (& between character names).

You don't have to use the canonical tag if there's a better way to do it!

Please nominate characters within ships alphabetically by last name (unless they have no last name, then use the first), e.g. Padmé Amidala/Anakin Skywalker rather than Anakin Skywalker/Padmé Amidala.

Disambiguate your relationship nomination if you like, but this is not required; if this step does not make sense to you: disregard it!

Mod reserves the right to amend nominations for clarity.

Crossovers:

Please nominate under 'Crossover Fandom' with the characters alphabetic by surname and a fandom name for each character in brackets, e.g. Carol Danvers (MCU)/Diana Prince (DCEU).

Original characters in non-original canons:

You may nominate Canon Character/Original Character, e.g. Steve Rogers & Original Male Character, Rey/Original Female Jedi, etc.

Bear in mind that this is not a mechanism by which to nominate your own pre-existing original character; please expect your writer/artist to create one!

Original Works:

Original ships must be nominated under 'Original Work' in the format 'Character Type/Character Type' e.g. 'Vampire/Vampire Hunter', 'Female Warrior/Male Dragon', etc.

You can be as specific you like about characters.

Please specify gender in the tag if you have a preference.

If no gender is specified in the tag, you will not be able to Do Not Want a specific gender in your signup - your gift creator will be explicitly permitted to choose.

Please nominate the Arrowverse shows together under DC's Arrowverse.

DCEU

Please nominate the movies together under DC Extended Universe.

MCU

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - ASK IF YOU'RE UNSURE

Please nominate the movie franchises separately (e.g. Thor (Movies); Iron Man (Movies)); each of the shows should also be nominated separately. Do not nominate "The Avengers (Marvel Movies)".

Ships who only, or predominantly, appear in the same movie via Avengers movies or a mix of franchises (e.g. Carol Danvers/Natasha Romanov; Peter Parker/Tony Stark): use Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In-universe movie/movie or movie/show crossovers (e.g. Steve Rogers/Robbie Reyes or Yon-Rogg/Yondu Udonta, not Steve Rogers/Mace Windu) - use Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Star Wars

Star Wars should be split into Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars Original Trilogy, Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), and then individual properties (e.g. Star Wars: Rebels, etc.). If in doubt, please ask!

TCW: please nominate as "Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types" (please do not use All Media Types for anything else).

In-universe SW crossovers (e.g. Mace Windu/Thrawn, not Mace Windu/Steve Rogers): I'm happy for you to nominate those under whichever SW canon you think fits best, or under Crossover Fandom.

X-Men Movies

Please nominate both timelines under X-Men (Movieverse).

Please specify timeline (Original Timeline or Alternate Timeline); add this in brackets, e.g. Scott Summers (OT) & Charles Xavier (AT); Jean Grey (AT)/Scott Summers (OT).

Please nominate the Wolverine-specific ships under Wolverine (Movies).

Please nominate the Deadpool movies under Deadpool (Movieverse).

Marvel Comics

Please nominate under individual universes, e.g. Marvel 616, Ultimates, Noir, etc.

DC Comics

Please nominate under individual universes, e.g. DCU (Comics), Bombshells, DC Super Hero Girls, etc.

If you want a specific DCU Comics timeline (e.g. pre- or post-Flashpoint), please feel free to specify in the tag.

I want to nominate ships for the Mechanisms, an in-character band who tell stories about other sets of characters. Currently, I have to nominate each album separately for the tags to autofill, and I was wondering if this would be the way the mods would prefer me to nominate, or if I should put all my nominations under "The Mechanisms (Band)", since I would like to nominate some crossovers between sets of characters in that universe?

(If the mods would prefer the albums to be nominated separately to the main band, then there are a couple of already-nominated tags that crossover between the albums and the band.)

Just put it all under "The Mechanisms (Band)" - that works for me!
